YouTube channel now up! “Moko’s Journey Home”

SO happy to announce that I’ve uploaded my first video to my channel, a read aloud, and it was a labor of love to make!
The book is VeryBerry’s “Moko’s Journey Home”, and it is an adorable story about a rabbit named Moko traveling back through the countryside to visit home for the summer. (Sounds familiar…! 🐰)
I actually met VeryBerry in person at UsaFest 2023, which was a fun springtime rabbit convention here in Japan. They were so kind & graceful. To be honest, I took a long time making this video because I wanted all the sounds to be absolutely perfect for the backdrop of Moko going home. I used my own background recordings from home, from the door rolling open, to recording the cicadas singing in summer, and even having my pets Cream & Cosmos eating hay on the mic!
It was quite a process, but finally after tweaking things here and there, I think I found the right pacing & soundscape balance. I did use music and sound effects from the sites listed below, though; as they say, it takes a village. But in the future I want to continue recording and uploading my own original background sounds; maybe I have a career in foley in the works?🤔😂
